Exercise Ball VideoA good exercise ball video can help you to learn both how to properly use an exercise ball and build an exercise ball routine. I've watched (and used) quite a few stability ball videos and DVDs, so I'll review them for you. Some are beginner-level, some more advanced. But all are good! The videos are actually best purchased as DVDs, since you can skip sections if you need. Also, most videos are not available online as VHS, except as used videos. (If you really just want DVDs, check the exercise ball DVD page. (That page also has links if you want to buy online.) Beginners to Intermediate
Once you are comfortable with how to sit and balance on the fitness ball, the video progresses to exercises for all parts of your body, head to toe. You'll be surprised at how much you can do! "Fat-to-Firm Fitness Ball Workout for Dummies" is good for absolute beginners through intermediate (intermediates use the alternate positions shown on the video). Another beginner video is "On the Ball Pilates Workout for Beginners". I liked it, but I'll have to confess -- you should know something about pilates before trying this one. I had done the workouts in the "Fat-to-Firm" (reviewed above) so I was OK as far as the exercise ball went. But knowing nothing about pilates made this one a little tougher if you're not in shape to begin with! If you have been exposed to pilates, then you'll likely enjoy "On the Ball Pilates Workout for Beginners". It's good for people who have been exposed to pilates, and who want to incorporate the exercise ball into workouts. Beginner through intermediate. Exercise Ball Video: Intermediate to AdvancedI'll confess, I haven't made it to the advanced videos; that is, I have some, but after watching once I decided to wait until I was in better shape. That being said, here are my impressions of the exercise ball videos after watching them. "The Method - The Stability Ball Workout" is from advanced beginner through advanced intermediate. The instructor is Katalin Zamiar and she leads you through a 50-minute routine. You'll exercise your legs, rear, abs, core and arms. You'll start out with a quick warm-up and end with a cool-down -- something that some videos forget to include! It's definitely needed here. "3-D Balance: Ball Pilates Level 3" is a really cool video, but also advanced. You really do need to know both pilates and the exercise ball pretty well in order to make it through this video. The balance you can develop with this video is awesome! It's worth watching for the "oooh, neat!" factor, even if you aren't up to doing the exercises yet. Balance balls are generally pretty inexpensive -- from $10 to $20. A DVD or two may cost you an extra $25. It's an easy way to work out, lose weight and tone your core muscles all at once! There are other good exercise ball videos...if you have a DVD player. The most recent good workouts sadly aren't available on VHS. Check out the exercise ball DVD page for additional routines and where to get them online. Top of Exercise Ball Video Page ***disclaimer-text.shtml***

Where to Get Fitness Ball Videos? If you are really wanting VHS videos (as opposed to DVDs), you may have to settle for used tapes...unless... ...you check through the "back racks" at places like Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Blockbuster, etc. They sometimes still have exercise videos they would like to sell for very discounted prices! Otherwise, check ebay and Amazon for used VHS tapes.
